Jerome Williams is the leader of South Los Angeles Shotokan Karate Club. He began practice in 1971 at the age of 13 with the Boy Scouts. His first teacher was a brown belt from Melrose Dojo. Eventually he started practicing at Melrose Dojo under Tsutomu Ohshima in 1973 . In 1985 Jerome started practicing at Maryknoll Dojo . In 1996 with premission from Ohshima Sensei he started the South Los Angeles Dojo. Jerome is currently a yodan (4th degree black belt).
I started practicing Shotokan January 1974 @ Pepperdine University my instructor/senior was Robert (Bob) Louis Owens.I started teaching at Whittier Dojo in 1987 and founded Inglewood Shotokan in 1992. I have four juniors/students who are black belts (three 2nd degree & one 1st degree). I am a disciple of Tsutomu Ohsima. I am a Sandan (3rd degree black belt).
